CLEARLY I havent been upkeeping this well..
Decided to post my Father's Day 2011 Card on here.. (i get a $10 credit on my acct for doing this too lol so double motivation!!)
Life has certainly been "interesting" to say the least! Always something new and different happening..
Sylas is almost 7 months old (ALREADY) and Madi will be 5 in July. I can hardly believe it!! Makes me kinda sad to know they are growing up so fast..
WELL.. I will make an attempt to get this going again.. but for now, enjoy the pics on the card :)

Hey all!! Curious to see if this posting from my phone really works!! I made this cute lil card set for Paper Craft Planet's July RAK group! The theme was 6 cards (all alike or different) with envelopes, giftwrapped w.a tag attached. I used a file folder to make the "folder" for the cards and just kept mine all the same. They were to be made using "coffee" as the theme and were to be left blank inside.

i made this cute lil thing to hang in my doorway as you enter my house... so maybe it will be an inspiration for me to clean lol!!! its such a true saying also...

i made this one for my Grandmother-in-law for her birthday cuz she saw mine and loved it!! i had Madi help me pick the colors for it since she wanted to help me :)

this is the bday card that i gave to Gma with her present :) i love this image!! gotta love The Greeting Farm... she's Beauty from the Cheeky Cherry Collection

i made this "box" for Sarah Ketchum for a RAK gift awhile back... another TGF image :)

here is the inside of the RAK "box"... some cocoa, apple cider and candy :) The lil pocket says "SARAH"

i made this card for my friend Elyce for helping me with a Passion Party i had... we had it at The Piano Lounge bar and it was 1/2 price martini night so i used cosmobella :)

this card was for a color challenge on ASWD- i had Madi pick out 4-5 colored pencils and i made a card using those colors :) i got to use one of the new Fairytale Tildas :)

my 4th of July House Mouse card :) i love these lil guys they are so freakin cute!!

i got a bunch of images from my mom of this cute Tilda so i decided to make a card using her :)

this card was for the June card swap on PCP... the theme was stars!! i was surprised to find out that i dont have any star images or paper really... so i made this tinkerbell paper and TGF image work out for me... this card went to Debbie Luke

i made this card for the June RAK on PCP... the theme this time was to make a card and then include enough materials so the other person can recreate the card 4 times. my card and kit went to Christi Usher

i made this fun card for my UK friend Linda Wright for her birthday :) i LOVE this Tilda... Fairy Dust i believe she is called... most deff a fave :) i got this awesome paper in a RAK a long time ago from Karin on PCP... i love it too lol

i had this sticker pack that i had gotten from someone.. Christi i believe... and Madi saw it and FREAKED out and wanted to make a card using them, so i used my CM tearing tool (yep i dug it out lol) and tore some paper and just let her go nuts :) she does such a good job!!

annnnd finally, i made this card for Madilyn's 4th birthday!! she LOVED it :) again i used Beauty from TGF... what can i say... im a lil obsessed haha!!

welp, thats pretty much all for now... i could post pics of fam and such but you'd be here ALL day looking at em!!! sooo i will wait for another time :) i hope to be on here more and able to post more regularly so its not a HUGE long post like this one!!

Update!!

WOW its been a long time... woops! im still without internet at home so its hard to keep up on this stuff!!

some news to share: BABY #2 is on its way!! November is when we are expecting :) since i had a c-section the first time, i should be able to kinda choose when i want to have 'it'. i am totally finding out this time what 'it' is!! it's gonna drive me nuts if i dont! so far being pregnant sucks again- pukey every day... im losing weight from it too.. boo!!

next news: i am going to be opening an Etsy store soon with the help of my mom!! we are very excited to get it started... we just hafta get some stuff made up and photographed to put on there. we have our business cards done up and everything!!

in addition to those things, Mom, Liz (my brother's fiance) and I will be attending the CK Convention in Des Moines in JULY! im so excited! i am gonna have to start saving some money or it wont be much fun!! lol

so now onto crafts... here's some of the things i have made lately :)

Hey all!!
Not much is going on with me lately... staying busy cleaning... i've been reading a Feng Shui book and i decided to try and incorporate it into my house to see if it helps remove stress. (it's supposed to) Also, i read somewhere that if u get rid of 50 things that it will help de-clutter and de-stress your life, so i figured it couldn't hurt! :) with as much crap as there is going on in the world i could use a little less stress! LOL!
Anyways, i wanted to give a shout out to IMPERFEKT (Rick) and COLORLESS (DJ) ... my boys that are awesome Hip-Hop artists... (local Hip-Hop) they are having a show tonight downtown and i would love to be there but money is really tight, so we aren't gonna be able to make it. I know that probably none of anyone who reads this blog listens to Hip-Hop, so i wont go into linking them, but if you want to hear em, email me and i will give it to u :)

forgot to mention that i started another blog!!!

PLEASE stop by and become a follower! there isnt anything on there right now cuz i started it lastnight and dont have reg internet to update everyday but i am going to try my best. Code and i decided that we wanna get the net back by the summer so i can get goin on my business stuff!!! PLUS we are both going NUTS without! lol its been a battle all weekend to see who gets to the computer fastest haha! :)

Anyways ima try n get a job this next week i think... i dont have a car but i would make Code take me untiul i get mine fixed. (yeah i forgot to write that i basically killed my car by driving with no fluids in the engine lol WOOPS! i hated it anyways but its no fun being stuck at home until Code takes me places! So, WISH ME LUCK! im not spillin anymore details cuz i dont wanna get my hopes up or someone get me excited and then i dont get the job. sooo PRAY for me to get a job and have GOOD GOOD things come my way!! :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

So i totally thought i would be able to update before now... but life has been hectic to say the least! Code and i went a lil crazy on cmas gifts this year :) we spent $400 on just Madi, so she had an awesome christmas!! she got a bunch of ponies and Barbies and Hot Wheels cars!! :) Code and i didnt spend much on each other cuz we wanted to get M lots of stuff.. We figure we have time to spoil ourselves! Our New Year's Eve was pretty boring... we went out shopping during the day and then stayed in for the night watching movies that we got for christmas.
I handmade all the christmas gifts we gave away this year! i made some lil whisks that say 'Whisk you a merry christmas' and they had lil Hershey Kisses in the ends and a tag attached w.ribbon. i also made a legal pad holder, gift tags, altered paint cans, 5 scarves, an altered jiffy pop popcorn and 40 cards!! lol! i was a busy lil girl!! im sure i am forgetting things that i made but its k...
So i HAVE to tell bout the COOLEST gift we got... Code's grandpa Toft carved us a fish sculpture out of wood... and it is the coolest thing i have EVERRRR seen!!! what makes it even better is that he carved it by using ONE HAND. crazy amazing!! i will have to get a pic and upload it at some point. :)
I am currently working on a 2010 calendar since my 2009 Basic Grey one isnt much use anymore.. i love it tho so im not gettin rid of it! :) it's kinda hard making a calendar w.out havin the handy lil calendar print outs... i have to make the lil things by hand! took me like 4 times to get the sizing and number of boxes right! LOL! next i am going to make a mini album of Mom & I's trip to Archiver's. i've been slackin!
I am hoping to make mom do a craft show w.me in June... maybe Trish will wanna have her Bagolitas in it and i can have the lil purse cards next to em!? lol.. thinkin far ahead. My goal for the year tho is to be in at least one craft show and make $100. i dont wanna shoot too high and get my hopes up and then fall short n be sad.
Anyways, i wanted to update while i had the chance... I MISS ALL OF U ONLINE FRIENDS!!! it totally sucks not being able to get online n chat n see whats goin on... i have lots to share and lots of pics to upload once i am back online!!! (im hoping to eventually get a laptop too so i can take the net w.me wherever i go :)
OH YEAH... i lost my cell phone. how one loses the only outside lifeline that was left is beyond me lol... but i did it! i have NO clue where it is... i know it is forever gone tho cuz its not anywhere. so i have been without a phone now for almost a month and its soo annoying!!! just when i get texting back... POOF my phone is MIA. lol! ANNND i went and looked at new phones and it is retarded expensive to get a new one! like $250 for the ones i like! soooo thats not happening for awhile!! :)

Bday n Bookmark

So since i JUST posted pics of 'life' here are pics of cards... well... a card and a bookmark, cuz i dont wanna make this post forever long cuz otherwise ya wont see the other one!! :)

I am in the process of trying to figure out pricing and such for cards i make... and im going to start trying to sell altered notebooks and such on Facebook cuz i have had a few people tell me that they would buy em!! :) so i will be taking custom orders for those... and my goal for next summer is to get into a craft show either by myself or with my mom and sell some stuff!! :)

As soon as our money sitch is better i wanna get business cards ordered so i can hand em out and send em along w.RAKS and such :)

This is just another 'Happy Birthday' card that i made... this one took me like (literally) 3 min to put together cuz it was also a previously colored image!! (i color images while the hubby plays xbox!! keeps me entertained so i dont 'bitch' LOL!) i found the pink mulberry paper in my stash and busted it out for this one... i forgot how much i like that stuff!! :)

'RELAX' Bookmark... this one kinda happened on accident... i colored the image in ahead of time and had the papers just laying out on the table... so i decided to make something outta it! :)

Welp, on that note i should get the lil one in bed... she's been a busy busy girl outside w.her Great Gma lately!! :)

...Depressed...

isnt it funny how one minute you can be smiling and the next its all you can do to force one?

life is totally depressing on my end. its like whatever i do to try and cheer up is a completely wasted effort.

i just feel like the world is going to crap and that nobody really cares about anyone else anymore. i've always been nice to other people to try and make them happy first, and now it's like the older i get/more crap i put up with, the more i realize how stupid it is. i mean, im the one who is/has been depressed for 3 years (literally... just about every smile is an act) and i sit there and try and make everyone else happy first. all that does is make me even more sad cuz i give in to them and i get to feel unappreciated. its like one thing after another. depression is not easy... esp when its not JUST you that deals with it...

Code has been putting up with my random outbursts and freak-outs right along with me. he just doesnt know what to do to cheer me up anymore and neither do i.

i know exactly what i want out of life but its so far away it doesnt seem possible.

PLUS, i feel like i have a tiny lil support system, when i need everyone i know to notice that im trying.
its almost exhausting trying to make others happy. is it worth it in the long run? are you supposed to spend your life trying to make others happy instead of yourself?

i've been thru all sorts of things in life but being depressed is by far the most painful. its literally "smile one minute, frown the next". one LOOK can destroy my entire attitude.

i just feel like Code & i have hit rock bottom... neither one of us is working (well Code is KINDA) so we cant pay our bills...

so having fun is almost pointless also. i just cant justify going and having a good time when we have no money and i think life sucks so bad.

most of my days start with me not wanting to get out of bed. once im up, i sit around and be depressed... feed Madi, (not myself) put M down for a nap, sit around and be depressed... she gets up... cycle repeats itself. i flat out dont care about myself when im depressed. i dont eat when im upset/depressed... so i end up losing weight and energy. not the best diet!!

what sucks the worst is i have no friends to call and vent to. the handful of 'friends' i have are always busy doing something else and i dont get invited. sooo, it makes me not want to call them cuz they're out enjoying life while im stuck at home.

idk what to do anymore. :(

anyways thanks for listening... i really needed to vent :(

THANKS to everyone who came and helped out w.Madi's birthday!! it was a big success!! :)

Also, i wanted to upload a card i JUST made for the Color Challenge i'm hosting over on Any Stamp Will Do... Code gave me the inspiration (2 colors) for this one so i was happy to do it :) i love when he helps... its kinda nice knowing that he's supportive of me! :)

OH YEAH! i just remembered that i never posted the cards that i received from the KETTO swap over on SCS!! :) i was very happy w.all of em!! i'm gonna keep em too! (i just wish everyone would've written their names on them somewhere cuz some are completely blank) but yeah! im sooo glad i did two entries!! i got more cards that way!! 5 wouldnt have been enough to get all excited about :) sooo i took a pic and thought i would share it w.ya :)

Just a quick update...

Just wanted to quick update some pics :) First off... we have my lil peanut outside playing ;) I love this pic!!
Next, we have the front of the gatefold card i made for Code for Father's Day :) (got a chance to use my new Magnolias!! and my BG Wisteria papers again!!)

Next, we have the inside of Code's card... pics are from last year, but its still cute and it works!

This is the card that i made for Madi to give to Code :) i about freaked when i saw the stamp and sentiment!! HAD TO HAVE EM! :) reminds me of Code and Madi :) used my new BG paper and some SU! ribbon

And finally... this is the color challenge for Any Stamp Will Do this week. :) i made this card for Gma Dar cuz i thought the stamp looks like Madi and her BFF Hop Hop!

Welp, that's about it for now... i have a few projects in the works and i will get those pics posted as i finish them!!

(Mom's bday present will not be published till after July 8 because she would see it!!)

What's new in my lil world...

As you know, Father's Day is coming up, so i decided to make a card for my dad using my new stuff!! :) i used the Lime Rickey paper from Basic Grey, Stampin Up! Ribbon, my new robot stamp and sentiment and a coolie metal flower i got in a RAK from Samantha! :) I still have to make one for Layne (Cody's dad) and then i'm done making Father's Day cards!! I made Code a cool gatefold card and gave it to him already (i just need to take a pic and post it) and then i also made Code a card for Madi to give him.. she just needs to write on the inside :)

This is a card i made for a Color Challenge on Any Stamp Will Do. I got to make up the colors for this one... so i got a chance to use my new Wisteria papers by Basic Grey. :) i used a Gorjuss Girl image i got from Samantha on this one cuz i thought she was really cute and went with the colors well. (i tend to color images in advance so it's more difficult for me to make a card)

Along with the Color Challenges (which i am helping Sam with while she's away), i am in charge of the group called 'Are ya up for a Challenge?' where every Monday i post a new challenge and a card i have made for the challenge. it's a good way for me to stay on top of making things and not allowing me to slack off! i'm not a big fan of being hot- so staying inside where it's kinda air conditioned is gonna help me have time to make some stuff too!!

On another note, Mom and I are starting to get more ideas for a business! I have come up with some good names (which will be announced later since i have yet to tell Mom lol) and different marketing ideas and such for it! Earlier i sat down and wrote out some things we could sell and pricing ideas... so once we start making things we have a better idea of what to make and how much to sell it for :) I'm EXCITED! i cant wait to get things going!!

Code and i were talking the other day about our goals for the future, and i told him that i really would just rather stay at home w.Madi and make stuff and sell it. it's not that i dont think i can do it.. its just that im scared of failing that keeps me from jumping in head first. i think it's about time for me to just JUMP and see where it takes me!! i mean after all, life is about taking risks right? if i dont take a risk doing what i love then i wont ever be truly happy!! Code wants to go back to school for car stuff and eventually open his own shop :) anything is possible!!! he's very smart when it comes to cars and fixing them... he just sells himself short!!

Welp, off to hang out with my lil one and get some more cards made!!

Update on Cedric...

He got to come home from the hospital the other day and Meg called to tell me :)
Evidently he is doing a LOT better- still has the little hole in his heart, but HE'S GONNA MAKE IT! As long as everyone keeps praying for him!! :)

I'm gonna go over and see them this weekend!! I will take some pics and upload em for ya'll!

Anyways just wanted to do that quick update!

isnt this pic amazing?! found it while browsing thru yahoo images :) i love music so i thought it was appropriate :)

sooo its been a few days and im still without my camera... so no blog candy pics yet!

good news is that im adding to it everyday :) im thinkin since im getting close to the 1000 hit marker that i will just do it pretty good sized cuz then i dont hafta come up with stuff to do two candies!!! ya'll are gonna LOVE me lemme tell ya! i dropped $9 on a bag of random candy the other day at Target so i can send out CANDY in my blog candy haha :) totally couldnt help myself! i was gonna go all out n send my FAVES- Ghirradeli Milk Chocolate w.Caramel :) but i know they would all break before they got where they were goin!

other than that life has been stressful as usual... found out my grandparents are extremely rude and selfish... (they were never really my grandparents anyways... just complete strangers) and they shared their unwelcome opinions with the wrong people and well.. its gonna hit the fan in a week! :) i recently got told my my 'grandmother' that my "PROBLEM" is my "BIG MOUTH". PSH she's never heard it and shes just about to. (p.s. this was brought to my attention during regular conversation about how im not going to my cousin's grad party cuz i dont like her... AT my other cousin's babyshower. ARG! n lemme clarify for those who dont know me personally... i am very respectful and sweet- and then people cross me and i get to express how i feel.. and i dont like to sugar coat (which i do on here for other peoples' benefits) so it ends up in some lil blow out deal. sooo when i was 'informed' of my 'problem' (which i was in complete shock to hear by the way) i just had to stand there and laugh it off. as soon as she left tho i told everyone what she had said. my family is knucking futz. seriously. (if u dont get knucking futz... look a lil harder lol). its times like these that i would be completely happy moving outta state and away from those kinda people. its not like i would lose much! and FRIENDS- psh what friends?! im down to 1! i most deff dont feel sad either cuz i dint do anything to lose friends! they are just all consumed w.being a drunk idiot to realize they are forgetting about people... which is fine w.me! i went thru a drinking phase also but i grew up and realized theres more to life than bar hopping and shopping for new clothes to go get drunk in. (VENTING SRY GUYS)

neways i am sposta be goin over to see Meg tonite (the cousin bout to have a baby) and i will get my camera back then... so TOMORROW i will be taking pics of my newbie creations and of course the BLOG CANDY!!! :) btw i made a funny card to put on Any Stamp Will Do and i havent gotten a chance to get a pic of it yet... but its a hoot :) cant wait to post it! it'll show everyone my humor for sure! :)

Code and I are going to a hip hop show tonite where our friend Q is performing :) "Q Hefna" LMAO haha if u knew Q you would get it... otherwise use your imagination! lol! should be fun!! :) we have a couple other friends in it too and when we went last month we ended up stayin out til like 5am! yeah idk how jazzed i am about that so we're proly not stayin out for the 'after party' haha! went to bed lastnite at 12! it was weeeeeeeird! im usually not in bed til 1 or 130ish :) i needed some beauty sleep!

welp i spose i should go get some cards and things done... i still have a RAK to get together and send out! (kinda forgot about it but i dont have her addy neways so its not like i could mail it!)

First off... HAPPY LATE MOTHER'S DAY TO EVERYONE!!! Code n Madi picked some Lilacs for me!! (MY FAVE!) so naturally i was pretty jazzed and thought a photo was necessary :)

This was a random card... i was thinking to myself... "Self, Asian people have bright colored hair sometimes so i should make my Ivy Ketto look like it!" and well here ya have it... totally random! i've been coloring in images while bored watching Code play Call of Duty on Xbox... so its a lil more of a challenge when i go to make the card! instead of coloring to coordinate w.my paper, its backwards! :)

Made this card for a color challenge on Any Stamp Will Do... i LOVE this image... i was only sent one in a RAK so if anyone has her PLZ will u send me some more?! and i finally figured out how to 'destroy' my paper like they do in the SU cattys :) lol

This lil sweet is another random idea... i decided to stamp her right onto the DP to see what it would look like... i still colored her in as normal, and i colored the guitar and used liquid glass over it to make it look all shiny :) i embossed her crown and kiss stamp w.gold embossing powder to match the gold brad and rock n roll theme :)

Miss Margarita Ketto was fun to play with too... i wanted to use purple n orange for her and the green just kinda happened... i like her tho she's cute :)

FIRST TIME EVER USING A MAGNOLIA STAMP!

isnt she the cutest lil thing? i had to do something out of the ordinary for her, so i braided 3 lil roses together and attached em w.pink staples :)

Made this for my mom :) i wanted to steer in the complete opposite direction of the 'traditional pink and such' MD cards. plus, i had colored this Kenya Ketto in prior to making the card and so i thought i would just use it since theres pink n purple on it... and i can still spin off in a diff direction! (she will see it for the first time on here but hope she likes it!)

Otherwise i have been keeping busy w.work! i only work 3 days this week so its quite the change from the chaos of last week! MAN i never realized how 'traditional' it was to buy ur mom flowers on MD until i worked at Flowerama AGAIN! (it was my very first job EVER... how funny is that?!) but yeah when i havent been busy working, ive been trying to get caught up on sleep! i hafta admit i have one of the best hubbies ever... today he let me sleep in til oohh 10:45am when Madi got up w.him at 7:30! i havent been sleeping well lately so he decided to be nice and let me have some time to myself :) gotta love it! (plus im not at all a morning person so its kinda lovely to lay in bed all day... and its cloudy so naturally i wanna sleep all day anyways haha)

NEWAYS just wanted to let ya'll know that i havent forgotten about my BLOG CANDY!!! i have been adding to it for the last few days and its gettin pretty big ;) lol...

MAN am i tired! Flowerama has really piled on the hours this week! im workin like 45-50! very drastic change from what i was doin... stayin at home w.Madi! the next 2 days are gonna suck... i won't even be able to see Madi cuz Cody is doing deliveries for Flowerama today (from 8am-?) and tomorrow (8am-?) so Madi is staying with Dar overnight so Code can just get up and go. it sucks tho cuz i work til close tonite which is like 10ish and M will already be asleep at Dar's house. then tomorrow i work at noon, which means i wont get to see her in the morning. :(
annnnd of course i work on Mother's Day since it's the busiest day of the year... (i work 10am-6pm) so i wont get to see her really til i get off work on Sunday. :(
its kickin my ass! i barely get a chance to eat at work... im running around all day long and when i get home, i barely sleep at night. and not cuz i stay up late... just cuz i cant seem to STAY asleep. on top of that, everyone at work is all stressed about 'production' and getting it done as fast as humanly possible.. and some of these girls have worked there for a long time- its my first week and they want me to do everything as fast as they do! AHHH! lol! its like all my limbs are being pulled in different directions and im about to break lol.

Whats new...

Whats new? Not too much really! i have kepy busy working on cards and stamping images for RAKS and Swaps galore! :) i just finished up my 12 KETTO cards for the KETTO Swap over at Split Coast Stampers... i used the Miss Match and Sake stamps for my cards and they turned out really cute :) But of course... i wouldnt send cards that look like crap and expect people to like them or me to maybe win anything?! lol!

AHH I WON BLOG CANDY!!! SO EXCITED! cant believe i didnt write on here about it sooner! Neways my girlie Sarah in Florida had her hubby and S-I-L draw names and they drew mine twice!!! it was meant to be! lol! Naturally i am excited- its the first blog candy i have ever won and i know i had made a post about how im never gonna win... welp just goes to show ya NEVER SAY NEVER!

So Code and i went on a 2 hour walk earlier! it was sooo nice outside and the perfect day to go on a walk.. or boating.. lol (yeah i dont have a boat but i wish i did!) but yeah it was nice to spend time with him... just the two of us! we also got some cleaning done lastnite and did some laundry and dishes today. Gma Dar took M lastnight when she got off work (around like 6pm) and Madi still isnt home! lol! she's sooo in love w.her Great Grandma! I LOVE IT! personally... i never got the chance to hang out with my Great Grandma... or even really my Grandparents... anyone who knows me knows that i have adopted Gma Dar as mine :) i mean... she's been more of a Grandma to me than my own! kinda sad... but not really.. it's their loss! PLUS- how could i turn down some of the BEST food ive ever had?! lol... Gma Dar is where its at! :) LOVE YA DAR! :)

Tomorrow is my cousin Meg's babyshower!! (see photo) i hafta admit its weird going to it- let alone HELPING w.it! :) it's all good tho... she's the cousin i used to babysit when we were littler... and it makes me feel OLD now that she's gonna be a mom! i mean i ALREADY have a 3 year old- and i cant figure out where all the time went from the time she was a baby in my arms to now when shes goin potty like a big girl and telling me allll sorts of things! TIME FLIES! i guess ya never realize just how fast it goes by until its gone..

The shower should be fun tho... we're doin the baby food in a diaper game- leavin it open so u hafta smell it to see what it is... then we have a bottle of M&M's and everyone hasta guess how many are in it and whoever is closest wins a $5 Blockbuster Giftcard and bag of popcorn... then we are doing the one where we measure her waist... and then we made 30 lil cards to people to write something nice or advice in for Meg. :) (Cards and giftcard were my ideas!!!) We bought a lil basket to put things in and we are going to walk it around the room and have everyone look at it and then they have to wait until we are all the way around the room and then they have to try and write down as many items as they can remember from the basket and whoever gets the most right wins a prize. it should be easy :) We also bought a lil photo album to slide all her cards into when she's done reading them. Hope she likes everything! Below is a photo of the mini book i made for Meg when i found out she was pregnant w.Cedric Owin Hamilton :)

May is my month for being RAK PERSON #3!!! i am really excited to see what im gonna get! us girls over on Paper Craft Planet like to spoil each other w.all sortsa goodies! i have done a lot of swaps and met some awesome people that i could call friends from ALL over the world! it's awesome :) anyone involved w.RAKS knows what im talking about! for those who dont know what a RAK is... it's a Random Act of Kindness :) i mean who DOESNT like to get something cool in the mail?! i freakin love it! its like Christmas all the time! lol! with that said... ya'll should go check out Karin's blog... she's the one who got me started on the RAKS! she's a VERY creative woman and makes adorable cards and little gifts for ppl :)

yeah yeah i know.. im slippin on these blog entries... i have been informed by my M-I-L and Gma that i need to be updating this w.new pics of what ive been doing because they cant get onto Paper Craft Planet to see my pics :( sooo... without further adue (spelling?) i give u my most current uploaded pics... i have more but i cant really upload em cuz they are 'secrets' for my RAKS :)

This card i made for my friend Maggie and her hubby Corey since they are havin a baby girl :) i was excited to use a lot of pink... and my bella from ELLIE! LUV IT BTW! lol...
and i apologize for the sideways view... my bad! its sposta be a close up of the threading thru the paper doily and then the charms i used :)

This is a personal fave... i exacto knifed her dress out and taped a square of this to the back of the paper.. then added lil fabric slippers to it :)

this was my first attempt with a sponge dauber... lol! looks like a mess if u ask me but it turned out better than i thought it was gonna! i was still on a pink kick after making the Ballerina one so i went with it on this tub card :) EXCEPT! this time i didnt cheat and exacto... i actually cut it by hand to fit the tub!! YAY ME! lol

this was intended for a Bday card challenge... but i procrastinated and never got to posting it at the correct time... so its just a belated bday card now! p.s. caption was totally spur of the moment thought when i looked at the card! i tried to use coffee colored paper also to fit the latte theme!

eh yep... no pics of crafty shtuffs today!

just thought it had been long enuf since my last entry...

and i swear its so fkn impossible to win blog candy when 200+ ppl wanna win it! DAMMIT! LOL!

hmm neways havent been up to much other than SHOPPING! WOOHOO! lol.. we got taxes back a lil earlier than we expected em so naturally we got all excited and went shopping lol!

I ORDERED A FLAT IRON! after like 6 freakin months! it cost me $92 w.some hair sprayer shits that u use to not fry your hair from a blowdryer or flat iron. :) YAY! isnt it lovely?! :) its a Solia Tourmaline w.the infrared heat :) LOVE IT!

other than that... bought M some Littlest Pet Shop guys, a shop/service manual for Code's VR4, and *sigh* (my weakness) KETTO stamps :) I ONLY BOUGHT 3! i totally contained myself! :)

OOOOOH YEAH!!!!!!!!!!! i got a wicked cute pair of Donna Karan sunglasses for $90! Original price is $260 on em, so i couldnt pass it up! :) lol... lookin at my list makes it seem like i spent a lot, but i didnt really! :) im a good shopper, what can i say!?

Easter Card/Image Swap!!!

Well HELLO EVERYONE!!!

It's almost Easter... and im sure you are all busy making cards for people you know... so why not do it for a random person you dont know really?! lol! I attempted to do a Valentine Day swap but didnt get anyone to do it with... so i thought i'd use a lil more notice this time! :)

I was thinking instead of just a card swap... we should do an image swap also!

Idea #1. make a card using stamps of your choice... then stamp a few of that/those images for each other...

orrrr Idea #2. make a card for each other and then choose 3 of your fave stamps and stamp images for each other.

p.s. images dont necessarily have to be easter... they can be of anything 'Spring-ish'

Anyone who wants to participate in this, please either leave a comment on here or PCP, shoot me an email at sweetnlopes@yahoo.com, or email on PCP and let me know which idea you think is best and if you are willing/able to do a swap! :)

Swaps are fun... its always nice to get mail that is something other than BILLS! and lets face it... swaps are a great way to meet people! :)

I realize this is late but...

Isn't Code the biggest sweetheart? So i had to work on Vday... and he and Madi made this while i was at work... you can imagine my surprise when i came home to a MINI ALBUM! lol... i mean i thought asking for a homemade card was a stretch... but NOPE! Needless to say i cried.. i love that they painted it together and he let her draw on the cover... and he WROTE ALL OVER IT! Yessssss! this will most deff be a treasured item of mine for many many years :) ORRR till he makes me another! lol!

so im in the process of trying to get another job... w.my girl Alisha at Hawkeye Fire and Safety! ive been workin a lot at Michaels cuz everyone is calling into work and they have no one to work... so they call me and i need the money so why not go right?! anyways- interview is 2mrw at 10am... WISH ME LUCK! full time would be fkn great right now. we need insurance and money so itd be sweeeeeet. for some reason tho i dont have the best feeling about it... like ima go for the interview and then not hear anything for another 2 weeks... i either gotta switch my Michael's availability to all the time or get another job... and i gotta put M in daycare. anything to get outta my current living sitch! its been driving me nuts lately- esp more since money is tight.

i need to start working on some more scrapbook pages... im having a mini picture withdrawal when i do cards! lol... they are fun and they get done fast but i dont get to have as much fun with it as i do when i get to make a page. :) i have some really good pics to use too so i will hafta break em out for ya.

so happy moment for the day... Edie Sedgwick (see pics)... a girl at Michaels told me that i look like her... she was the Andy Warhol "it girl" in the 60's... and they are making a movie about her called The Factory Girl :) all i can say is i WISH i looked like her lol... she looks like a white Halle Berry from the side... but she's gorgeous so i will most deff take the compliment!!!

Newbies... Card swap!?

So today i managed to get a 'lil' break from the world and had some free time... so i chose to spend it making random cards! :) i started with the intentions of making Valentine's Day cards for people, and it spawned into me making whatever looked good to me at the moment. my creative session got interrupted when my lil one was returned to me and i had to stop what i was doing and get back to mommy duty. i still know what i was going to do, so i will post my 'projects in the works' as i get them completed :)

This was the first V-day card i made... was made for Cody (of course) and i made him open it lastnite actually lol... it took me 19 min to complete it (writing and all) and i told him i could do it in less than 20... so i felt bragging rights came into play and i could muster up another card for the REAL V-day right? lol. he thought it was cute... but he's only told me like twice he didnt like something... im usually the one being like 'this is the worst card ever i hate it' blah blah...
This is my attempt to turn one stamp into a diff one :) i stamped my huggybella image onto a piece of cardstock, and the curly haired girl didnt turn out (half her head was missing lol) & i figured it was a waste to throw it away, so i cut the paper in half and just used this side for my card... since the girls' arms are attached in the stamped image, i cut a circle from a piece of paper that had hearts on it and i used it as something to cover where her arms should be.

My total impulsive card... i literally wasn't going for a prego card, but hey the pink sent me somewhere... and why not run with it?! i embossed the 'Mommy to be' with gold SU embossing powder (i borrowed it from my mom YEARS ago... it doesnt go bad right?! lol) and i just watercolor penciled in the bella to match the paper and ribbon :)

XO! This was so i could play with my new chipboard letters from K&Co's Berry Sweet line :) and my new pink inkpad... couldnt resist!!

just a lil mini... actually made from a scrap of paper that i had left over after cutting two cards from a piece of cardstock :)

FAVE!!! KO SKUNK!

this card right here shows my sense of humor for those of you who cant already see it! i found this lil skunk guy in a thing of embellishments i had bought and i had the letters that i was gonna use to spell KO and do a boxing theme like 'your love knocks me out' or something... but i thought it would be more fitting to do the skunk... get it? skunks smell and knock ya out and its a KO lol... :)

another card for my one and only... this took me like 3 min tops to complete

i fell in love with the bird on this SU paper... so i wanted to use it as my main focus

huggybellas... (notice the curly haired one... she's cut out of the image on the card a few up) this is one of the first ones i did... i did this one lastnite actually

annnd my congratulations card... started out as a v-day card, then had no purpose... then i found this rub-on and decided it was a good fit :) i used big sequins and attached em w.square brads

So question for ya'll... would anyone wanna do an image or card swap?! i dont know about you... but i love to get mail and it would be awesome to get cards from all my talented lovely friends online! :) i know i would do it for ya'll... just either email me @ sweetnlopes@yahoo.com or leave me a message on here and we will swap addresses! Cards wouldn't have to be for v-day or any specific event... they could be just because :) i'm thinking we could make this like an ATC swap but it would just be a big card swap! let me know! even if its just one other person!

So before i get all excited about my pics...I wanna say that my prayers are with Garrett Sheehan and his family and friends thru these tough times. I don't know first hand what it feels like to lose a child (or come close), but I know how bad it hurts to lose someone you love... esp a child. Please pray for him... he's an adorable 7 year old boy who got handed some bad luck.

Madilyn Oriental Style!!! Saw a similar sketch in a mag and wanted to make it mine so i did my best to do it similar w.out copying it

One of our engagement pics :) I was about 6 months pregnant here... I wanted to keep the soft look going so i just stapled the ribbon on the side of the page and created a 'frame' from cardstock for the photo... i also colored on the embellishment

Dress... I had a pad of paper shaped as a dress and i literally tore the back cardboard off and decorated it with cardstock and a lil flower

Stripes- well since CM was kinda strange and had 12x12 pages that were actually 11.5x12, i was left with lots of strips of paper that i didnt know what to do with... so i figured that since i had a b&w and a color photo to do on one page, that i would use my stripes :) i think it looks good

CHAOS- isnt that the truth?! if only there was a warning label on weddings lol. THEN people would know how exhausting and rediculous to spend so much money and time on 1 day. lol. i used crappy wedding pics to make this calendar page into a collage

Prince Charming- I love this pic... its so us lol. Code really is the best guy tho... he was my BFF in high school and we've stayed close ever since :) He looks completely diff in a tux lol!!

this is the scarf i just finished!!! my first attempt at knitting and i DID IT! woohoo! lol it's sooo soft but its not long enuf for my personal taste... so Madi gets it!!!

isnt he the BEST?! Madi got a lil WALL-E toy before christmas and it had little paper eyes in the packaging... and well i LOVE WALL-E so i couldnt resist but to create my own out of paper!!! it only took me like 30-45 min :) he stands on his own bcuz i made two black strips of paper into wheels by folding them into a square-ish shape...then i added a lil 'frame stand' on the back (think the thing that holds picture frames up) (i'ma try and make EVE next!!!)

First blog post ever!! I'm jazzed cuz I've always wanted a 'blog' so I'd have a place to show off my stuff :) I am obsessed with everything that has to do with paper crafting. My mom got me started on it around 14 and it stuck with me. I'm 24 (just turned on Nov 9) and I have a daughter named Madilyn Elise who was born on July 3, 2006. I was married to my best guy friend from high school, Cody on September 9, 2006 and we have been going strong ever since. Life hasn't exactly been easy for us, but I managed to find a way to continue to scrapbook and create cards and various altered projects. I started out just doing Creative Memories scrapbooking... and gradually progressed into the style I am comfortable with now. I found that I was too "limited" and I always felt behind on pictures. I figured out that scrapbooking for someone else is all fine and good but it's your best work when you do it for yourself. :) I have just recently started really getting into the card making aspect and I love it. I never used to stamp either so I decided to challenge myself with it and see if I liked it... and now its become a necessity for each card! Funny how shit works out huh? Anyways... my name... Sweet N Lopes... totally originates from my cat Lola. (Full name is Lola Pezz :) ) We call her Lopes all the time and one day I called her Sweet N Low (like the lil packets) and then it became Lopes. Idk I thought it was cute and catchy so I decided thats what my business should be called someday if I get it going! I would love to do custom orders for people- the sky is the limit... and I love having projects to work on! Especially if they are a bit challenging! I feel like the more time and effort I put into a project, the cooler it looks and the more pleased I am with the finished product. So I spose I should say that I don't have internet access at my house.. so my posts won't be very frequent. But, I will try and get some pics on here ASAP so it's not naked for ya! Hope all is well with everyone... I'll catch ya on the flipside!
